Located in the historic Tribeca district of lower Manhattan, this double-wide third floor loft space derives its idea from the brick bearing wall which divides the loft in half. It becomes the reference and loom for a "double-weave" which defines the project spatially, programmatically, and materially. Through the brick arched wall are woven double-program (live/work), double studios (music and drawing), and double-materials (plycem/plywood and steel/fiberglass). The oversize steel and fiberglass doors act as "switches" which bridge the gaps between the two "lines" of construction, blurring the lines between creative work and creative play.
